Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to support start-up and commissioning operations of a GoM production platform. A background in chemical application management, with particular emphasis on fluid separation and flow assurance will be desirable.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Drives to field locations to obtain samples and/or deliver products
  • Subject matter expertise in production chemistry throughout the whole production system
  • Close asset support, chemical performance management, short- and long-term problem solving
  • Oversight on chemical inventory management
  • Manages production chemistry risk
  • Provides strategic support to operations
  • Inputs to heat map review and management strategy
  • Approves asset threat management strategies
  • Initiate Management of Change (MOC)/MOC review prior to Technical Authority (TA) approval

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
  • 5+ years of experience in upstream chemicals
  • Must be safety and environmentally conscious
  • Intermediate MS Office skills and abilities; primarily Word, Excel, Outlook; SAP preferred
  • Excellent writing skills needed for reporting to production chemistry, corrosion, engineering, and offshore teams
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Good presentation and negotiation skills
  • Good multi-tasking skills

Desired Characteristics:
  • We are ideally seeking candidates who have at least 3 years of related experience working within the deepwater oil and gas production environment
  • Technical knowledge of Production Products and services and their application to production platforms
  • Good understanding of competitive market
  • Experience in trouble shooting oil and gas separation facilities
  • Experience with selection and application of production chemicals.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial issues
