QA/QC Engineer

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and comment on Procurement, Construction and Commissioning related QA/QC documents such as Project Quality Plans / Quality Control Procedures /ITPs MS WPS / PQRs / TQs / Deviations / Material and Vendor Approvals etc., Agree upon, monitor and follow up with the contractors Vendors for the timely submission and approval of all project QA/QC related documents
  • Monitor the manufacturing, inspection and testing activities at the vendor suppliers works , by the review of TPI TPC / Contractor's inspection, expediting and procurement status reports, and highlight any issues to the QA/QC Engineer in a timely manner
  • Monitor project construction and commissioning activities, monitor QC inspector's coverage of site inspection and surveillance activities, randomly participate in day to day inspection / testing activities and perform independent surveillance inspections,to ensure compliance to the project quality requirement
  • Provide active support to the project team in the review finalization of various project document and record's templates indexes such as;MRBs / Project Final Dossier / MCC / Pre-commissioning dossier, Test Packs· pressure tests /loop Checking, and ensure their effective implementation by the random review of associated documentation and occasional participation in respective punch listing walk throughs
  • Witness / Monitor the special processes and personnel qualifications (Welding, NOT, coating, PWHT, FRP, Concreting, Grouting) testing and oversee their performance in field
  • Monitor the project's audit schedules, Conduct / Participate in project quality audits, failure root cause analysis sessions, project meetings, as directed by QA/QC Engineer. Closely follow up for the timely closure of relevant action points, CARs / NCRS
  • Liaise with the contractor QA/QC & construction personnel, TPI / TPC personnel and QP QC inspectors and construction team members to address and resolve any day to day site issues / deficiencies . Inconsultation with QNQC engineer, may liaise with the contractor QA/QC representative , to address unresolved issues at the working level
  • Closely monitor Contractor/ Subcontractor / TPI / TPC activities, associated QA/QC resource deployment, adequacy and their performance (including QP QC inspectors), and report any shortcomings to QA/Q engineer
Qualification:
  • Graduate in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering from an internationally recognized University
  • Shall be a Certified QMS lead Auditor and possess job I functional related professional Qualifications / Certifications provided by API/ NACE I AWS I ASNT I CSWIP I IIW
  • Quality related Professional Certification from ASQ-US and Membership in CQJ-U K are desirable
Experience:
  • Minimum 12 years QAQC experience working in in Oil & Gas downstream industry with a reputable Owner / Consultancy / Contractor organization
  • Candidate shall possess hands on experience in performing and managing the QA QC job functions in all levels of organization during Procurement, Construction and Commissioning phases of the EPIC projects(Process Plants, Pipelines, Tank forms) in multicultural environment
  • Experience and involvement in Engineering phase of the project and manufacturing sector is desirable
  • Candidate shall have overall experience and knowledge in all disciplines required to manage the overall EPIC project related QA/QC activities, apart from the core Mechanical discipline
